Health Benefits of Green Tea, White and Black
Did you know that green tea is actually the same plant of black tea and white tea? Each is just different stages of growth on the same plant. White tea is a beverage legendary masters "greats" of ancient China, black tea of modern European culture, and the green a favorite of fans of modern health.

Green Tea Inhibits Cancer
Green tea has high concentrations of EGCG, which inhibits the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase. This may seem like a greek to us, but EGCG targets of this enzyme in tumor cells and stops new growth and development of DNA. Scientists believe modeling anti-cancer later, but why take drugs when you can take the real thing?

Studies conducted at Pace University in 2004, indicated that white tea inactivates viruses bacteria such as Staph, Strep, pneumonia and dental carries.
Bone and joint health
Research shows green tea could be helpful in reducing inflammation related to arthritis and slowing cartilage breakdown. Some early data indicate that regular consumption of tea may improve bone mineral density.
Memory
Older patients in Japan who drank green tea daily showed less memory loss than those who did not drink tea regularly. While there is still much to learn about the benefits of tea for health, they still seem to be in the cup, rather than an extract or capsules. Those qualities fortify the memory can also be those that appear to strengthen the cardiovascular system.
Caution in pregnancy
Women who drink large amounts of green tea around conception and early pregnancy may have an increased risk of having a child with spina bifida or other neural tube disorders. It can also inhibit the absorption of folic acid, as with everything in life, moderation and balance are crucial.

At home we often drink a liter of green tea, black or white in the morning, great way to start the habit of tea (and be prepared to detect toxins).
